HP48G - Insufficient Memory Errors

Reviewed: July 13, 1998

Problem

While working with the HP48G Body Composition calculator you may notice the program stop functioning during certain memory intensive operations, like printing the weight loss graph, and will see the following message on the screen:

GOR ERROR:INSUFFICIENT
MEMORY
4:
3: GRAPHIC 131x64
2: (#0d #0d)
1: GRAPHIC 12x6

Cause

This can occur when the unit's memory becomes too full and unable to process further commands. Pressing the calculator's function keys while the Body Composition program is running, or pressing keys too quickly can cause a low memory condition.

Solution

If the error message is still on the screen, press the button twice to clear the screen and get back to the [HOME] screen.

  • Once at the [HOME] screen, press [ON][C]. You will see the following menu bar on the bottom of the screen:

  • Press [GREEN-SHIFT][VAR]. You will see OBJECTS IN { HOME } on the screen.
  • Press [ON][C]
  • Press [PURPLE-SHIFT][VAR]. You will see the following menu bar on the bottom of the screen:

  • Press [A], corresponding with MEM on the menu bar. A value will be displayed on the screen above the menu bar.
  • Press [CST]. You will see the following menu bar on the bottom of the screen:

  * Note: If you see a blank menu bar on the screen, the Body Composition program is no longer stored in memory and the calculator must be returned to BIO|ANALOGICS for reprogramming. Call (800) 327-7953 for a Return Authorization Number and shipping instructions.

  • Press [A], corresponding to the letters BC (for Body Composition) on the screen.

You should now see the BIO|ANALOGICS beginning screen. Press [ENTER] to begin entering body composition data.
